Post Re: Zelda Symphony
I just attended the Vancouver concert on the 14th, and it was incredible :heartred:

ParanoidLime: I'm going to spoiler tag my answer, because I know some people who are attending future shows would like to be surprised.
Spoiler: show
The show is pretty spoiler-ridden, unfortunately. There were 2 movements devoted to TP and aLttp, so there were lots of game scenes shown to accompany the music.
However, there wasn't a ton of Skyward Sword content and nothing from Minish Cap, so your friend would be safe there.

:C
I would've gone if I had know about it a little bit more beforehand. I just assumed they wouldn't make it to Vancouver so I didn't check T_T
I noticed the day before that they were going to Vancouver, but by then it was too late.

Thanks Kaos icon_c: I've already told her and she promised to resume playing as quickly as possible.
Spoiler: show
Too bad about the lack of SS though. I actually enjoyed the soundtrack very much.

Yeah, I Ioved the SS soundtrack as well. However, I think they might have chose to keep it out because it's such a new release; maybe they wanted to avoid spoilers. It also could have been because the soundtrack was already orchestrated? However, don't let that get you down. It was still a really excellent show!

I saw the concert in Austin on June 22nd. Really lovely time.

They milked the orchestra a little... the conductor kept wandering off and silently demanding we applaud for them. There were like 4 "encores" and after the 2nd I was exhausted from the showmanship. But, I did get to hear the Gerudo Valley theme, which is my total favorite other than the original Legend of Zelda theme. And, since Skyward Sword came out after the concert was arranged we didn't get to hear the SS medley, which is super pretty. Overall, it was a lovely experience. Lovely music, dragged the boyfriend and best friend to Austin and met some other friends for dinner.

The swag was pretty weak. Poster or t-shirt, nothing else, neither terribly interesting.

Neat! Where did you sit? What did you think?

Parking was a BITCH. My friends and I got there at like 7 and were trapped in their retarded traffic diversion for 50 freakin' minutes. Had to do valet just to make it inside the stupid Long Center on time.

I was in the very back row, but the theater wasn't that deep so it didn't feel that far back.
I really enjoyed the show.

Didn't have parking problems, but I can't remember what time I got there either... probably 6ish
