Post Manga: Skyward Sword by Akira Himekawa!
Holy CRAP

http://www.zeldadungeon.net/2011/11/the ... ord-manga/ & http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2 ... elda-manga

"Akira Himekawa's official Twitter account and the January 2012 issue of Nintendo Dream magazine revealed yesterday that now Himekawa, a duo of female manga artists, are working on a new manga adaptation of the popular game franchise The Legend of Zelda. The manga is loosely based on the newest game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This is the 11th Zelda manga adaptation by Himekawa.

The magazine published the 2-page interview with Himekawa on page 100 and 101. They announced the manga will be published by Shogakukan in near future and introduced two rough sketch pages from the up-coming manga.

The female manga duo have drawn 10 volumes of The Legend of Zelda manga so far. Their manga

series have been sold more than 1 million copies in Japan and at least more than 500,000 copies in

North America, according to Nielsen Bookscan."

Does anyone live near a Kinokuniya (or other import store?) I'd love for someone to pick up this issue and scan that interview & those rough's they're promising. :# I'll probably try to order it, it would just be a while before it gets to me.

Anyone who can read Japanese know what their blog post says? http://www.himekawaakira.com/himekawa/index.html It was just the same as the tweet and that they're changing how their pseudonym is written (thanks guys!)

PS: If no one else gets scans of this online before mid-jan, I'll be buying it so I can do it.

To quote some NPCs from Majora's Mask...
"AHH THISS THISS... I BEAR YOU NO REMORSE!!" *passes on*

Seriously, I was thinking of this just last weekend. After figuring out I had the money to import the whole series in English (since now it's highly improbable they will translate them to Spanish due to some manga publisher's bankrupcy >_> ), I received the 10 volumes last month. I'm currently on the 9th one (aLttP), and I wondered if Akira Himekawa would draw adult Link again, since most of the volumes they focus on child/toon versions of Link, and I love their style (they make him look so handsome :heartred: ) You have made my day, Melora. :D

As for the blog post *drools while looking at it*, I kind of understand what it says. It basically states what you just said, that the info has already been circulating on Twitter that they are working on the manga for Skyward Sword and the publication in Nindori (short for Nintendo Dream, I believe, as it would be Nintendo Doriimu), the interview, the sketches... It looks like an update on their page of the info. However, the second part of the blog post states that they changed their pen name's writing in kanji; the pronunciation doesn't change at all. Instead of writing Akira with just the kanji for "bright", they will be writing it with the kanji for "bright" followed by the kanji for "moon".

Oh wow, that's awesome news!

I'm leaving for Taiwan next week. If I spot this magazine in the local bookstore, I'll try to get a copy or two. No promises though.

Sorry for the Spanish guys. :P

Thank you so much Malu!

Cool Cyen! If you don't find it, no worries. The import stores will be getting it in the US in January, I'll buy it then if no one else has gotten it online.

Ah! I'm so excited! Yay, we'll have more cute Avatars! XD

This also presents an interesting problem that I've never had to face before~ Now that the series has been picked up for world-wide release... I'm not sure about doing scans of teh whole volume & helping witha fan translation for English. I think it might tick off the publishers ...? :erm: At the very least, it sounds like they'll be releasing it in the magazine first... so I might get a subscription and get SOME scans online. I'm not sure. I don't want to take away any sales. Since that's the reason given for the last few games not getting adaptations, I'm feeling like I need to distance myself...

EDIT: Screw it, I just bought it.

YESSSS, I remember when you were the first one who got the A Link the the past volume from Nintendodream. xD I cannot wait to see those two drafts! I wonder how much their artstyle has developed since Ocarina of time.

That's awesome because I think I found out about it because of you, ..or Louisa (or both? Both maybe) I don't really remember. I just know I hadn't been around for a while, and when I logged on one day I saw something about it and had to buy it XD even though I was all ill and un-talkative feeling I was like "MUST. GET. IT. ONLINE. NAOW."

And these are my priorities XD

You're the only Zelda "news" person/site I follow XD If it's not about manga/romance/or art- I don't really care, lol. So, that rules out all of the others.

I know, that's why I broke down! I HAVE to see what these new sketches look like. It's killing meeeee XD

:heartred:_:heartred: I love Skyward Sword every bit, the characters, the story everything! I cannot wait for that manga, hopefully two volumes just like Ocarina of time.

When do you think you will get that magazine?
