Post Re: Pronunciations
Saria = Sah-ree-ah

Kafei= Kah-fee

Gerudo= Geh -roo -doh (like in Play Doh XD)

Hyrule= High-Rool

Hylian= Hee-lee- an <- Yes, I know that I pronounce hyrule and hylian different but for some strange reason saying Hylian the way I do, sounded better than Highlan XDD.

Twili = Too- eeh- lee <- Again, I know it should sound something along the lines of twilight XD but I like the other sound better 8D

Rauru= Rah-ooh-roo

EDIT: LOL! @Saphine, I knew you were going to put up that video! It never fails to make me laugh :D

Post Re: Pronunciations
I'm realizing more and more that I say things a different way almost everytime I say them. :durr:

Twili - Twee-lee (but said really fast)
Rauru - Rar-oo (but if you think about it like the name Raul that sounds cooler)
Dodongo - Doh-dong-go
Kokiri - Koh-keer-ee (sometimes I just say 'creaky', just 'cause)
Darunia - Dar-oo-nee-uh
Epona - I switch between 'Eh-poh-nah' and 'Ee-poh-nah'

So how about Holodrum and Labrynna?

Holodrum - Hoh-loh-drum (I kind of slur the 'drum' part almost like it's 'drm')
Labrynna - Lab-ree-nah

Farore: Fuh-roar
Koholint: Koh-hoe-lint
Kaepora Gaebora: kay-pour-uh gay-boar-uh

Post Re: Pronunciations
Before I cared about pronounciation, the ones "just" added were:

na-BOAR-oo (mid vowel could also be a cbrv, as below)
The what now?
The first vowel a close back rounded (and long), or occasionally AU--kah or AUK-au

I'm necroing this thread because is seems like a relevant thread for a question that's been screwing with my resurrected writing thingy... Where does the stress fall on Aeralfos and Lizalfos? I couldn't care less if it's lies-al-foes or liz-al-foes, but depending on if it's a dactyl or an amphibranch (first or second syllable stress) I may have to rewrite some lines (yes, it actually matters to this thingy).

plz:
Lizalfos
Aeralfos
Dinolfos/Dynalfos
Dinofols

edit: just realized there's this other little word I need a stress test for: Hyrule. Is it HIGH-rule or high-RULE? I'm Finnish enough to wanna put stress on the first syllable of almost every new word. Radio Hyrule's "you're listening to" message feels otherwise.

Post Re: Pronunciations
Saria - SAH-ree-ah
Vaati - VAH-tee
Kafei - kah-FAY
Deku - DEH-koo
Rauru - RAH-oo-roo
Nabooru - nah-BOO-roo (though I think it's actualy "bo" instead of "boo" )
Din - DEEN
Farore - fah-ROAR
Nayru - NAI-roo (after reading the Japanese name, I know it's actually NAY-roo, but I like my pronunciation ^^: )
Ashei - UH-shay
Malon - MAH-lon
Ooca - OO-cuh

I find it funny you native English speakers think of Twili as Twee-lee. I think it's like Twilight sans the "ght" part XD
I would put the stress on those words like this:
liz-AL-fos
ae-RAL-fos
DI-nol-fos, though I actually pronunciate it di-NOL-fos because dinosaur in Spanish has a different stress.

Post Re: Pronunciations
Haha, after reading this post I realized that Dinolfos is not spelled Dinofols. Same with Lizalfos.

Saria- Sair-ee-a
Vaati- Vat-ee (same 'a' sound as in cat)
Kafei- Ka-fey (as in Tina Fey)
Deku- De-ku (same e as in get)
Gerudo- Ger-oo-doh
Ocarina- Oh-cuh-ree-na
Ashei- A-shay
Hyrule- High-rule
Hylian- High-lee-an
Nayru- Nigh-ru
Farore- Fa-roar
Kaepora Gaebora- Kay-pora Guh-bora
Twili- Twi-ligh (basically like twilight sans the t at the end)
Koume- Koh-yoom
Rauru- Ror-oo
Dodongo- Duh-dong-go
Kokiri- Koh-kuh-ree
Epona- E-pona
Nabooru- Na-buh-roo
Oocca- Oo-ka

How about:
Sheikah - Shee-ka
Aveil - A-vail
Jabun- Ja-boon

Post Re: Pronunciations
Imma do ALL OF THEM. Here's a handy empty list, too.

saria -
vaati -
kafei -
deku -
gerudo -
ocarina -
ashei -
hyrule -
hylian -
nayru -
farore -
termina -
koholint -
kaepora gaebora -
twili -
koume -
rauru -
dodongo -

oocca -
lizalfos -
aeralfos -
dinolfos/dynalfos -
dinofols -
sheikah -
aveil -
jabun -

--

I'm using an apostrophe to modify some vowels where needed. I'm probably inconsistent in here. I have my own way of writing out sounds that is BETTER. :P

saria - SUH-ree-uh
vaati - VUH (long vowel, it's a double a) -tee
kafei - kuf-EY (like café, emphasis on the diphtong Y at the end)
deku - DEH-koo
gerudo - geh-ROO-do' (not dyeroodoh, hard g and doesn't have even a hint of a W diphtong at the end)
ocarina - o-kuh-REE-nah
ashei - ush-EY
hyrule - HIGH-rule (short second syllable, more like rl than roooool)
hylian - HI-lee-un (used to be heelian, first syllable a close rounded front vowel, y/ü)
nayru - NEY-roo
farore - FAR-roar
termina - tur-MEE-nuh
koholint - KAU-hau-lint (koho resembles a finnish word, so it reads like finnish to me - short syllables all of them)
kaepora gaebora - KAH-eh-pore-uh GAH-eh-bore-a (the P and B like to swap places, too)
twili - TWEE-lee
koume - KOH-meh (NOW it rhymes with low)
rauru - r-OW-roo
dodongo - do'-DONG-o'
kokiri - ko'-KEE-ree
agahnim - uh-GUH-nim (emphasis on the h, cuz it's... there)
keese - KEYS
darunia - duh-ROON-ee-yah
malon - MAL-on
holodrum - HO'-lo'-drum (finnish pronunciation of hologram creeps in)
labrynna - luh-BRYN-nah (that y again, see above)
nabooru - na-BOO-roo (used to be nah-BORE-oo)
rebonack - still no clue
oocca - still inconsistent, still has a difficult vowel to explain
lizalfos - LIZ-alf-oh-s or liz-ALF-oh-s (liz, like the name
aeralfos - air-ALF-oh-s
dinolfos/dynalfos - deen-OLF-oh-s or -ALF-
dinofols - if not the same as above, then DEEN-o'-folls
sheikah - SHEEK-ah (or SHAKE-ah when not caring about pronunciation)
aveil - uh-VEIL
jabun - YAH-boon (more like YAH-bn)
