Post Re: Cavalier's Art Resources
Yeah the Akira manga is awesome. I read the first 3 or 4 volumes a number of years ago, and thought the pacing and the exploration of the setting unfolded at a totally different pace than the movie, which I really liked.

As for the Lttp guide, I took a look at a number of pages at Zelda Dungeon, and the charm and intrigue in the area and item descriptions is palpable. My favorite part thus far in my read is the description of Ganon's pyramid of power where the description alludes to ancient rumors that the former defenders of the temple were well armed and very powerful due to the presence of the Bomb Shop and bomb wielding Cyclops. Thats the stuff I love about old video games; there's just so much intrigue and cryptic hints of a deeper, older mythos.

Anyway, I've gotten my hands on more cool stuff and am in a bit of an uploading frenzy so here's more rare art for everyone. Today's update is Syd Mead of Blade Runner, and Tron fame.. Here are some highlights

Hey guys wanted to share some scans from the Iain Mccaig's new artbook Shadow Line. I hugely recommend this book to any artist. This guy is a modern master and a throw back to the old days when fantasy artists were classically trained. Even small samples of this guy's art is extremely rare to find on the 'net and so I recommend just buying the book as I did you will not regret it.

Here's an update from perhaps the greatest sequential artist of all time: Hal Foster. This collection is from Prince Valiant, which has quickly become my favorite comic of all time. These scans do not do justice to how exquisite to either the artwork or fantagraphics beautiful publication of these truly masterful works.

About Prince Valiant; the Prince Valiant comics follow Prince Valiant's childhood, his quests in Camelot, battle against the Mongolian hordes, many sea voyages, forays into young love, and exploration of Africa and much much more. I only have the first 4 installments of over 30 years of work. I strongly recommend picking up these volumes to any artist, writer or lover of medieval romance, war stories and gritty adventure.
