Post Artists Behind Zelda
Does anyone know who the artists are for the various Zelda games? Its been a holy grail search of mine to discover who the artists behind the LoZ and AoL for years now. But what about Link to the Past and all the games after. I recall reading somewhere that the Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and now Skyward Sword artist has been a single individual, but who are these artists and have they ever done anything else?

Most of the games have their entire credits spelled out here. :)

Cool! Thanks TML thats a really nice resource.

Well I couldn't find out anything about the original NES artists, but Yoichi Kotabe is the illustrator behind Link to the Past. He has interesting background and not surprisingly worked with Miyazaki on a number of projects including the cool, but very depressing 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother.

I'm gonna keep poking around but if anyone knows anything about the original NES artists please make a reply!

Post Re: Artists Behind Zelda
Gah, I would LOVE to know who did the art for the first 2 games.

Thank for asking about this Cavalier. I always wondered who did the LttP/LA art and always just forgot to try to find out.
I always referred to him as "the artist who did the Kola style Nick cartoons" So I'm kinda sad that it looks like that wasn't him. But, WHOA- looking at his Filmography...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y%C5%8Dichi_Kotabe
I've seen so many of these things! (Barely remember most) And, heh, many of them were on Nickelodeon. (Belle and Sebastian was one of my favs). I had no idea But- the Serendipity the Pink Dragon series!? I had so many of those books as a kid, I would have eaten that up! ..I have to see if those are on YouTube. I would kill to see those.

So, OoT:
Illustrator Yusuke Nakano, Wataru Yamaguchi, Minoru Maeda and Character Design Yoshiaki Koizumi, Yoshiki Haruhana, Satoru Takizawa, Jin Ikeda, Satomi Maekawa

Does that mean Yusuke Nakano did the character art for OoT? (and looks like TP- so I'm guessing yes) Only the first 2 of each category seem to be important enough to have wiki pages, and Koizumi seems to be less of an artist and more of a ...'boss'

Yoshiaki Koizumi: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 1991 Printed art work layout and story of the manual | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Story, script writer, manual writer | The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D system director, story, character design

I hate that I know I'm so ignorant in these matters considering they're what I love: Just, before I left the net- the info wasn't out there- and since I've been back, I guess I've been too overwhelmed to look.
