 Read First! The Main Rules and Guidelines
IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES AND REQUIRE HELP (Examples: using the board, issues with another member) PLEASE CONTACT A MODERATOR VIA PM:
Your Global Moderators:

Kindly refrain from contacting Melora regarding the forums. Contact someone from the approved list above. Thanks.

Here is basic forum information and useful links.

The Ten Basic Rules and Guidelines:
1) Posts should contain substance. Think about your post before submitting it. Check for errors after submitting and, please, take advantage of the edit feature.
2) Respect your fellow members. Use "Netiquette". What is "Netiquette"?
3) If you have a problem with someone, don't make it a public mess, let a staff member know via PM. (See above)
4) Please stay on topic.
5) Try searching for a topic before making a thread about it and use existing threads when you can.
6) Avoid Hotlinking. What is "Hotlinking"?
7) Always credit your photo and informational sources: It only takes a second to include a link.
8) One account per user. No exceptions.
9) No "flashing" animation in avatars and signatures please. Why not? It's really annoying. Also, see here.
10) Use attachments to show off your art and rare media you find (like screen caps of auctions) - use them sparingly for anything else.

Remember: Less is more.

Rules and Guidelines: In Detail
Content:
    * No self-advertising except if it is relevant to the topic.
    * Racial slurs, gay-bashing, sexist language, or other such language will not be tolerated.
    * No trolling.
    * Generally avoid discussions of a highly emotional nature. If you are not sure that a topic you're about to start falls into this category, send a moderator a private message or don't post your topic.
    * No console bashing, no console wars, no Zelda timeline theory wars, no shipping wars What's a "shipping war"?
    * Avoid using swear words.
    * Avoid spoilers. Use the provided BBCode for spoilers, or say it's a spoiler in the thread title.
    * Don't start an introduction thread for yourself. We will always have a permanent one for you to use. Also, don't make posts to say you are leaving forever or for an extended period of time or that you are back from being away. Send your friends a private message instead.
    * We discourage word games, joke and continuing story threads, and anything of a related nature. Again, if you're not sure about a thread you're about to start, send a moderator a private message or don't post.
    * Don't start contests.
    * Don't start threads that are directed at only one or a handful of users. That is what private messages are for.
    * Don't post suggestions regarding how you think History of Hyrule or this forum ought to be run. Send a private message or email. If community input is desired, it will be asked for.
    * Don't ask where to find illegal downloads, especially Nintendo games. As we encourage with doujin, you should be buying things the legal way when you can.
    * Don't ask where Melora is. It is CREEPY.

Mature Content:
    * No 'adult' content. At all. There will be another place for that eventually.
    * Sexual content involving persons under the age 18 is FORBIDDEN.
    What is considered adult content?
    * Any images or writing that depict or describe genitalia.
    * Any images featuring buttocks or female nipples.
    * Any other content deemed by moderators and administrators as unacceptable.
    * Kissing on the mouth or face is OK.
    * If you are confused or need clarification before you post, we encourage you to send a private message to a moderator.

Formatting Advice
    * Do not post images that are larger than 800x800ish in file size. Use a thumbnail if you want to link to a larger image.
    * Go here for other forum information. Like for info on BBCodes and attachments.
    * Limit the amount of pictures contained in a single post to ten or less.
    * When quoting a previous post, only include the relevant portion of that post.
    * No double posting please! (This means: don't make two posts in a row.) If it happens by mistake; use "edit" and change one to "delete this please."
    * Don't always type in CAPS, and doN'T USe cApS liKE thiS
    * Use punctuation, but don't use too much punctuation. (THIS!!!!!! is a annoying)
    * Don't use the large or small font tags for your normal text. Why purposely make something hard to read? Plus, that can screw up the zoom feature (and this affects the disabled and me- when I have to use my small laptop)
    * Don't use different colors for text- stick to default- unless it's a special occasion. If I ever change the colors of the forum, it may make your text hard, if not impossible, to read.

English Usage:
    * Avoid texting shortcuts like "this is 4 u, okthx".
    * Try to use proper spelling and grammar. SpellCheck.Net is your friend!
    * Please only post in English.
    * If English is not your first language, we will understand.

Community Interaction:
    * No fighting and no aggressive behavior.
    * Be understanding of others.
    * Don't bring fights on other sites or boards here.
    * Do not use this board to stalk or harass other members. If you use information you find here (like emails) to stalk members elsewhere, we will ban you here.
    * Do not post vendetta threads against people, whether they are members of the this forum, famous individuals, or otherwise.
    * Don't lecture other users on board rules. You may gently remind new users or some of the simpler rules. Otherwise, we encourage you to report disruptive members to moderators via the private messaging service.

Other Advice
    * Don't post personal information about yourself, like your address, phone number, etc. Also, we discourage users from posting images of themselves if they are not comfortable with them being accessed by strangers. This website is routinely monitored by friendly bots operated by websites like Google and Yahoo. They use these bots to automatically archive the internet for their search engines. If you don't want random people around the world finding your picture, don't post it, especially if you are under the age of 18.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the moderators via private message.

Thanks for visiting!
