Who is Marin?
She is a character from Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Many fans opinions vary on exactly who she is... A dream of Link or the Wind Fish (A mystical whale,) a version of Zelda, a version of Malon, or a person in her own right... or almost all of these things. Nintendo even says that Aryll from The Windwaker was based on her. So I'll just post the text straight from the Game Booklet. It reads, "Marin: This maiden from Mabe Village saved your life when she found you washed up on the beach. Marin bears an uncanny resemblance to Princess Zelda. She is a very musical woman who loves singing and yearns for life off the island. She has many friends among humans, animals, and even among some monsters."

She also lives on Koholint Island with her father, Tarin. Besides Link's Awakening and Link's Awakening DX (a colorized version of the original black and white game) Marin can be found as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube, in Manga by Ataru Cagiva, and in many various published and unpublished fan works. You can find pictures of her, and manga with her, here and here.

What is a Fanlisting?
